English Language Challenge

viernes, 3 de diciembre de 2021

Hello to everyone! I think this is the last blog I will publish for English V. It was a lot of fun blogging! The last topic will be: English Language Challenge.

What comments can you make about your experience learning English at university?

Well, I have to say that I like English a lot. I have had good experiencias with this subject. The teachers have been good and patient. Recording videos was fun and I like the activities in class. I feel that it was one of the subjets that best adapted to online classes.

What about the use of blogs?

The use of blogs seems great for me. Blogs have been forgotten by teenagers and using them to talk about different topics in English seemed interesting for me. It is a simple and fun way to learn.

What aspects of your English need to be improved and how do you plan to do this?

I think I need to improve the listening and pronunciation. For this, I will listen to mmusic in English and try to understand what they say. I will also sing the lyrics to improve pronunciation.

Outside the English class, how much are you using English these days? What for?

I think I use English a lot. I am often in video games or anime groups where I communicate in English. But I don't usually speak English in person, because I don't have a space where I need to use it.

So, that was all! See you in another time! It was nice interacting with you!

Changes to my study programme.

Hello to everyone. The topic for today is ''changes to my study programme''.

As I said before, I'm studying design. I think the university has a good study program, but there are many changes that I would like to make.

First, class hours are too long for the purpose of the major. I feel like design is something much more practical than theorical. And although the theoretical side is neccesary, I think work hours in classes could be adjusted. Students' mental health is often impaired for this.

Secondly, the university doesn't have the licenses for the programs it requires. For example, sometimes we use Photoshop or Illustrator and we have to get he licenses on our own. The university also could place more computers, so we can use the programs during class hours.

I would also like that in the program study include a more investigative field of design, not only graphic or industrial.

I feel like I can't say more about it, because I don't know the university in person. I don't know the instituion or its machinery. At least the teachers wo have touched me have taught well except for about 2. It has been difficult to have online classes.

So, that's all. See you next time.

TIME TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE

domingo, 14 de noviembre de 2021

Hello to everyone! I hope you are having a good day 馃榾 Today the topic is Time Travel to the future.

I think we have all thought about traveling to the future. In my case, the possibility of seeing the future and encountering things that I would not like scares me a little. But I would like to travel about 10 years to the future, to see if I'm graduated and working in design. There are dreams that I would like to see if I could make them or not.

10 years in the future I imagine myself with my own design store, living outside of Santiago, in a city with beach like Arica, La Serena, Coquimbo, etc. I would also be living with my little sister and my dog. I would like to have my own house and a studio to make my own designs.

Maybe in 10 years there will be some technological advances, but it would still be a very short time for something very futuristic. I hope the metaverse and virtual reality theme is available

I would like that in 2031 there were advances in climate change and the environment is better, that people have become aware and cleaned the planet.

I would not like to stay in the future, because I prefer to live the process that I went throught to get there.

So, that is all! See you next time! And let me know what is you vision about the future!

My future job

viernes, 22 de octubre de 2021

Hello! Today the topic for the blog is: My Future Job.

As I have written in previous blogs, I am studying design. So, it is normal to think that my work will be something related to design. But, I can't imagine working in a company, but if the situation requires it, I would have to.

Lately, I have been interested in opening my own store with products designed by me, like bags, notebooks or books. I addition to offering my work as designer, making logos, posters or something like that. I would feel more comfortable working on interior doors in my own studio and go out to make deliveries or buy supplies. This is why I want to specialize in graphic design.

My salary will be established acccording to the sales I have. This could be vary every month.

In case of working for a company, I would like after finishing my major in design, study something related to business management. I could lead a group of designers and not work as such for a boss.

Anyway, I would not like to work in Santiago. I would like to settle in other cities, futher south o north. I would also like to travel for work, although I don't see it with many possibilities.

The good thing about design is that it is a career that has several areas and isn't mandatory that you stay only in one area. You can always find new areas to specialize.

That is all! I hope you enjoyed this blog. See you next week!

Free topic

Hello everyone. Today, I will talk about a game I've been playing a lot lately. It's name is Genshin Impact.

What is Genshin Impact?

This is an open-world adventure game that allows you to control one of four interchangeable characters in a team. It's free and you can play on playstation, pc and phone. The purpose of this game is fighting and exploring.

Story:

Genshin Impact is set on a continent called Teyvat, ruled by gods called Archons, who grant Visions to chosen people. These Visions allow players to wield elemental powers. In Teyvat, players will embark on various adventures as outsiders and will travel with different characters with unique abilities that they meet along the way to explore the unknown and discover the secrets of Genshin in this land.

The game begins when the travelers, twin brothers, who are traveling between worlds, arrive at Teyvat. They find a world at war, and try to leave there, but a mysterious goddess catches up with them. At this point in the game, the player can choose which twin to play with (Aether is the boy and Lumine is the girl). The mysterious goddess captures the uncollected twin, and the other falls unconscious. Some time later, the main character, (referred to as "Traveler"), wakes up on a beach and meets Paimon (his companion of adventures) while he is fishing. Two months later, the Traveler, together with Paimon, decide to go to Mondstadt, which is the nearest city, to try to find the lost brother.

Gameplay:

There is a crazy amount of content. Lots of quests, challenges, bosses, puzzles, characters, abilities and a long main story. Genshin Impact has a large handful of playable characters so that each player decides to form the team that he likes the most and suits his style. At the launch of the videogame there are more than twenty characters available. Characters have different abilities, skins, and weapons. Some have ice abilities, some fire, some electro and some have swords, others bows or spears.

System:

Genshin Impact has implemented a gachapon or banner system to get new characters and weapons. This system works based on protogems (let's call it like this game's money), an element that can be obtained for free as missions are completed and chests are opened. In the game store, these protogems can also be purchased by paying with real money. Genshin Impact usually has three banners active, one permanent, and two temporary (one only for weapons and another for characters and weapons)

That's all for today. I hope you liked this blog and I invite you to try this game!

SOMETHING CONNECTED TO MY CAREER

mi茅rcoles, 29 de septiembre de 2021

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good day! Today we will talk about my career.

I am studying design since 2020 and it has happened to me many times that when I tell people that I am studying design, they only relate it to drawing or making logos. So, in this blog I would like to give my vision on design and its different branches.

First, let's talk about Graphic Design. Making logos is a part of graphic design, but it also has other things. To define it better, Graphic Design is the profession and academic discipline whose activity consists of projecting visual communications aimed at transmitting specific messages to social groups with specific objectives. You can make posters, banners, web pages or different visual media for some purpose. It is not simply a '' drawing '', it is communication. And you can apply it in different areas, such as business, social, artistic, etc. It is a very open world.

On the other hand, we have Industrial Design. I think it is more related to the architectural side. In this area you design objects or services that are going to be used globally. This leads to a better quality of life through innovative products.

However, I feel that there are some areas of design that are not highly valued. For example, an area that we could define as '' investigative ''. For me, this is a set of methods and procedures used to collect and analyze measures of the variables specified in the investigation of the problem. I remember that I had a branch called Ergonomics and Design, where we talked about the problems of the design of cities or buildings, which did not take into account disabled people or people with dementia.

In summary, in order not to make this blog so long, I would like to end by saying that I feel that design is not highly valued as it should be. Design is everywhere in our daily life. It is a career that solves problems for us every day.

See you next time!

The best holidays ever

mi茅rcoles, 22 de septiembre de 2021

Hello again! Today's topic is: the best holidays ever

In 2015 my dad, my little sister and me traveled to La Serena city. My dad has a brother who lives there, so we stayed at his house for 2 weeks. After a few days we arrived, my aunt and my cousin also came.

La Serena is a nice place to vacation. Its beach and landscape is beautiful, has several green areas and it has many tourist attractions. Also, if you get bored of being there, you can visit the neighboring city: Coquimbo, which is no more than 10 minutes away.

I remember we visited the Japanese Garden. This one had a small lake, a japanese style bridge and a lot of nature.

Another day we were walking along the beach coast. At one end, you can see the lighthouse. It is one of the popular monuments of the city.

To finish, one of the hottest day we went to a pool located on the outskirts of the city. This one had slides, so it was fun.

This was the best holidays so far for the number of times we went out for a walk and and the different places we visited. Other times we have gone to La Serena, but we did not walk much.

I hope you liked my blog, until next time!
